Ready to Establish your Motivational Baseline?

Making changes in life is not always easy, however, it is the way we grow, learn, and challenge ourselves to develop as human beings. Change is an ongoing process and will forever be a part of life. When you embark on a change journey, you should start from where you are. Until you know where that is it will be difficult to effectively make the change. You have to start with a baseline to measure your progress and celebrate your achievements.

Starting with a baseline is about determining where you are and what you are currently doing so that you will be able to know exactly what needs to be changed.

It may sound weird, but many of us are unaware of what we do. Whenever I need to make a change, the first thing I do is grab a notebook and start a journal to get a baseline of what did throughout the week. The following week I review my notes to see how many times I repeated the habit, didn't follow through, and try to remember what the obstacle or what helped me stay on track.

Many of us go through life on autopilot (Mom Brain!) and we're not aware of what we are doing daily. When you keep track of it – and this works with anything – you have a better picture of where you are and what needs to change for you to achieve your goal. The first step toward change is awareness. Becoming aware of your current habits and routines will help you move forward by making micro changes. Keeping track of a week or two of your routine will provide you with valuable information that will support your change effort.

So now you just need to decide on which habit to tackle first!

  • Improved Sleep

  • Weight (Loss or Gain)

  • Daily Gratitude

  • Exercise Routine

  • Water Consumption

  • Meditation

  • Money Management

  • Self Care (“Me Time”)
